Health and Physical Education is mainstreamed in the school curriculum to enable students attain the optimum state of Health. It is envisaged that any effort to promote aesthetic values at the school level include a natural esteem for physical well being, Hence, required knowledge, methodical training and regular exercise as indispensable components are practiced in school to develop and hone the skills and capacities of each child.
The Health and Physical Education curriculum envisions that each student undertakes the following activities with utmost sincerity and dedication.
Games and Sports
A world-famous dictum states that, "The Battle of Waterloo was fought and won on the playing fields of Eton". No better image can be portrayed of the importance of sports for character building.
- Sports hold an important and prominent place in the school curriculum and immense stress is laid on regular games and sports being played by the students to keep them physically fit and mentally alert.
- Students at Indraprastha World School are trained by professional coaches in a wide range of sports including: Taekwondo, Basketball, Football, Cricket, Table Tennis, Skating and Swimming,etc.
- Various sports are played within the school to give maximum students an opportunity to play organized competitive games and to develop in them the essential qualities of sportsmanship, esprit-de-corps, brotherhood and comradeship.
- Inter-School and Inter-House fixtures are regularly played by the students in various disciplines of sport at frequent intervals.
Health and Fitness
Regular, high quality physical Education Program comprises - Yoga / Mass PT / Aerobics to provide our students with opportunities to develop: an inclination towards, and strong motivation for lifelong maintenance of health and fitness.
Junior Sports India
School in collaboration with Junior Sports India specializes in age appropriate sports activities like relays and races for Montessori section in order to make our children maintain their muscular endurance, strength and flexibility to meet the demands of everyday life.
