School Norms

Guidelines for Parents

We earnestly encourage parents to carefully read the contents of the Almanac to gain a comprehensive understanding of the school’s systems and functioning.

  • Parents are requested to regularly check the Almanac for school entries and use it as a medium to interact with teachers. Kindly ensure that your ward brings the Almanac to school daily. In the unfortunate event of its loss, we advise purchasing a new one promptly.
  • It is imperative for parents to complete the student record pages accurately, legibly, and thoroughly, and endorse their signatures where required. A copy of the completed record must be submitted  to the class teacher.

Uniform and Hygiene

  • Strict adherence to the prescribed school uniform, cleanliness, and personal hygiene is essential.
  • Students must wear their identity cards daily without fail.

Contact Information

  • Parents must provide the school with updated office and residential addresses along with telephone numbers to ensure the safety of their wards.
  • Any change in residence must be communicated to the school office immediately, supported by relevant proof.

School Materials and Responsibilities

  • Ensure your ward carries only the textbooks and notebooks as per the timetable to ease the weight of the school bag.
  • Parents should guide their wards to systematically maintain worksheets and school circulars.

Attendance and Leave

  • Leave information must be recorded in the leave record section of the Almanac.
  • Students must maintain at least 80% attendance to be eligible for the annual examination.
  • Leaves will only be granted upon submission of a prior application, duly signed by the parents.
  • Uninformed absence for more than two consecutive weeks will result in the student’s name being struck off the school rolls. Re-admission will be subject to seat availability and payment of re-admission charges.
  • Arriving late to school is strictly prohibited. Students arriving late more than twice will face disciplinary action on the third occurrence or may be sent home.

Withdrawal and Transfer Certificate

  • For withdrawal of any facility or admission, one month’s prior notice is required.
  • Transfer certificates will only be issued after receiving clearance from the school and accounts office.

Parental Vigilance and Cooperation

A constant vigil by parents yields significant results. Kindly monitor your ward’s daily activities, including:

  • Academic performance in class tests and assessments.
  • Timely submission of projects, assignments, and home tasks.
  • In case of illness, ensure your child rests at home and rejoins school only after complete recovery. Doctor’s appointments should ideally be scheduled on non-working days, as half-day or short leaves are not permitted.

Parents must actively cooperate in maintaining their ward’s regularity, punctuality, and discipline.

Transport and Safety

  • Parents must make proper arrangements for picking up their ward from the respective bus stops. The individual collecting the child must carry the parent/guardian I-card.
  • For those hiring private transportation, parents must ensure thorough verification of drivers and safety measures to avoid any untoward incidents.
  • Non-bus users will not be permitted to leave the school premises unless escorted by a parent or guardian carrying the official I-card.

School Communication

  • Communication from parents should always be addressed to the Principal.
  • Requests for meetings with teachers during school hours cannot be accommodated, except in emergencies, which must be noted in the Almanac or communicated via email.

General Discipline and Conduct

  • Students must converse only in English during school hours. Parents are encouraged to provide a conducive environment at home to support the improvement of communication skills.
  • Parents are advised to attend Parent-Teacher Meetings regularly, as these play a vital role in tracking the child’s progress.
  • Ensure that students refrain from using offensive language and do not discuss teachers in their presence.
  • Distribution of cakes or gifts on birthdays is not permitted. Students are expected to wear school uniforms  even on their birthdays and during PTMs.
  • Parents should train their wards to be responsible for their personal belongings.

Health Guidelines

  • Students suffering from infectious diseases must observe the prescribed quarantine period before returning to school:
  • Chickenpox: Until all scabs have fallen off.
  • Cholera: Until fully recovered.
  • Measles: Two weeks after the rash subsides.
  • Mumps: Until swelling completely disappears.
  • Jaundice: Six weeks.
  • A fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner is mandatory upon rejoining school.

Important Reminders

  • Students must be present on the first day of the academic year, the reopening day after vacations, and the closing day before vacations.
  • Water bottles and tiffin boxes sent through others will not be accepted as a security measure.
  • Students are not permitted to leave school early unless under exceptional circumstances.

Digital Communication

  • Parents are advised to regularly visit the school website for updates and important notifications.

Code of Conduct

  • Altercations with staff or security personnel are discouraged and should be avoided under all circumstances.
  • Students are strictly prohibited from driving vehicles to school. Parental supervision is required to ensure compliance.
