Students Orientation
The highest form of leadership is transformational leadership. Leadership is not by rank or designation; it is by attitude and by competence. In Bhagwad Gita, Lord Krishna says, “As the leader, so the people.” According to this axiom, leaders set an example and become role models. A true leader is intelligent, dynamic, energetic, active, self motivated and ready to act and take initiative in all walks of life. At Indraprastha, we strongly believe in the mantra of building relationships because that’s the magic of understanding small things and sustaining it for a lifetime.
- Regular training programmess are held to familiarize students with the curriculum, rules and regulations of the school, teaching methodologies and the co-scholastic activities. In order to develop leadership qualities,
- The Prefectorial board is elected by a process of free and fair elections conducted in a democratic and transparent way. The student council attends the Leadership Workshop which exposes them to various interactive sessions of lecture and activities. The workshop focuses mainly on team building skills and enhancement of leadership qualities among the cabinet members.
- Members of student council are motivated to organize all the events on their own. The council also observes and maintains proper discipline during dispersal and lunch break. They are stationed at all corners of the school which helps them maintain order in an organized manner.

WORKSHOP ON PUBLIC SPEAKING
-Hosted by Sumit Dua, TIMES EDUCATION
A very impactful and dynamic workshop was conducted this morning by TIMES Education with the combined efforts of Indraprastha World School, Paschim Vihar on the topic- ‘PUBLIC SPEAKING’. Mr. Sumit Dua, an accomplished and well-respected public speaker, enlightened us with his remarkable knowledge in the field of public speaking. It was an interactive and fruitful session whereby the students of class 11th and 12th were apprised of the points that one needs to keep in their mind while addressing a gathering and gave them tips on how to overcome their fears. The presentation he displayedwas indeed very structured and informative. It emphasized important ideas including the need for confidence, keeping eye contact with the audience, using the right facial expressions and modulating the voice appropriately. He threw light on the fact that usage of flashcards to recall important points is completely fine. Any type of presentation preparation should include rehearsing the presentation in advance. One may take the help of their friends, family or use a mirror to assess their performance.
It is very important for each one of us to enhance our public speaking skills as it plays a crucial role in our professional life i.e. in interviews, presentations, business proposals, group discussions and seminars. The students and the faculty of Indraprastha World School extend their utmost gratitude to The TIMES and Mr. Dua for devoting some of their valuable time in boosting the confidence of the students of Indraprastha and encouraging them to work on their public speaking skills. It was indeed an illuminating and a beneficial session.
